ASA Girls Tball Rules
1. Tball players must be 5 by January 1. They can be no older than 6 by January 1.
2. All players must play every inning, unless injured or being discipled by the coach at the coachs discretion. Pitcher must play somewhere in the back half of the pitching circle. The four (4) infielders must be at least 30 from home plate. The remaining players must be in the outfield somewhere behind the baselines.
3. Each team must bat the entire roster.
4. Base stealing is not allowed.
5. Base runners may not lead off before the batter hits the ball. In the event of an infraction, the runner will be called out.
6. Bunting will not be allowed.
7. Slinging the bat is a strike. The batter will receive one warning. The second offense is an out.
8. Protested games will not be allowed. All disagreements shall be resolved at the time of the dispute.
9. Only one (1) coach and three (3) assistant coaches will be allowed in the dugout during the game. The defense will be allowed to have two (2) coaches positioned in the outfield to help instruct the outfielders.
** Please place a defensive coach at the fence behind the catcher to help keep the game moving. **
10. A maximum of two (2) timeouts per inning per team will be allowed. Calling time to prolong the game will not be allowed.
11. In the event of an injury, play stops immediately.
12. A ball unintentionally thrown over the fence or in the dugout will entitle the runner to advance one (1) base.
13. Play will stop when the pitcher has possession of the ball inside the pitchers circle. The pitcher having possession of the ball inside the pitchers circle stops the play. Time will be called once the runner stops on a base. Once the ball is in the pitchers circle, the base runner must have one (1) foot across the halfway line between bases in order to advance to the next base.
14. The five (5) run rule will apply for each inning or three (3) outs, whichever comes first.
15. Home team must prepare the field before each game chalking the circle, the base lines, the ½ way marks and the foul line.
16. All players must remain in the dugout during the game except when batting or playing defense.
17. Batter will receive four (4) pitches from a coach pitcher first; if batter does not hit any pitches, she will receive three (3) swings off the tee. If the batter is not ready to hit pitches from a coach, then they will receive four (4) swings off the tee. After midseason, ALL players will receive four (4) pitches from a coach pitcher, then three (3) off the tee.
18. Players must wear batting helmets when on the playing field. Do not remove helmets until inside the dugout. No exceptions.
19. No rolling balls to the bases (players must throw overhand) and avoid run downs if possible.
20. All infield positions on a team must be filled including the catcher position.
21. If a pitcher player fields the ball and makes a play on a runner, the pitcher play must throw the ball to a baseman or the catcher in an attempt to make an out. The pitcher cannot tag a player running to first or home, OR run to the base to touch it.
22. If a ball is overthrown at 1st base, batter may advance one (1) base at batters own risk.
23. An eleven (11) inch safety softball will be used for games.
24. Players at 1st base and pitcher can only play 1 inning in each position per game.

Dixie Boys Tball Rules
Playing Field:
1. Bases will be fifty (50) feet apart. The pitching rubber will be forty (40) feet from home plate and all other dimensions will be optical.
2. There will be a line marked 10 feet behind all infield bases. The outfielders must stay behind this line until the ball is hit.
3. The outfield fence will be no less than 100 ft. and no more than 125 ft. from home plate (for tournaments only).
Coaches:
1. Each team will be allowed a Head Coach and three (3) Assistant Coaches.
2. No more than three (3) coaches allowed on the playing field at one time. One coach at 1st and 3rd bases coaching boxes and one at Home Plate. The Home Plate coach may not instruct the runners. There will be two (2) defensive coaches allowed on the field.
3. Base coaches may not touch a runner at any time. Penalty: Runner will be called out.
4. Home plate coach may set the runner as many times as necessary.
General Rules:
A. A complete game will be 1 hour or if one team is leading by fifteen (15) runs after three (3) complete innings or 2 ½ innings if the home team is ahead by fifteen (15) runs.
B. An inning will be completed when both teams have acquired three (3) offensive outs or scored a maximum of seven (7) runs.
C. All offensive players will be in the batting order whether or not they are in the game on defense.
D. All players on offense must remain in the dugout at all times unless batting, on deck or base running. All players not in the dugout must wear a batting helmet.
E. The batter will be allowed three (3) swings to hit a fair. A foul on the third swing will be an OUT.
For a ball to be fair it must travel at least ten (1) feet from home plate. This area will be marked with a chalk line arcing from foul line to foul line.
F. Any regulation bat of 28 inches or less may be used.
G. Batters will not be allowed to bunt the ball. If the batter bunts or does not take a full swing in the judgment of the umpire, the batter will be called OUT. The batter must have both feet in the batters box. The batter will be called out if he slings the bat after one warning per player is given.
H. Pitchers must wear a batting helmet with a face shield and must be in contact with the rubber when the ball is hit. If the pitcher is off the rubber when the ball is hit, the offensive team will have the option to keep or reject any part of the play.
I. Base runner must stay in contact with the base until the ball is hit. Leaving the base too soon will result in the defensive team having the option of keeping or rejecting any part of the play (the runner is not out).
J. Any base runner missing a base will be called out ONLY when the umpire sees and calls it. The out will be called at the end of the play. No appeal on this call. At home plate the runner will be called out if in the umpires judgment the runner makes no attempt to return to the plate and is leaving the field of play.
K The base runner must slide at any base other than first base if the defense is attempting to make a tag. The defensive player cannot block the base or baseline without possession of the ball. Obstruction will be called and the runner will be awarded the base.
L. Play will end when the pitcher has the ball in his possession and is in contact with the rubber. Any runner that has reached a halfway mark prior to the pitcher having possession on the rubber is going to be awarded the base. If the pitcher has possession and is in contact with the rubber, the runner will stop at the next base. If in the judgment of the umpire the play has come to a halt or stand off, he will call time and position the next batter.
M. The infield fly rule is not applied.
N. Base stealing is not allowed
O A runner observed by the umpire to have missed a base with not attempt to return to the base to tag up before the ball becomes dead shall be called out.
P. No protests.
A level 5 safety ball will be used in games.
Players:
1. There will be ten (10) defensive players with no more than five (5) players on the infield including the pitcher. The position of catcher must be occupied. The player at the catchers position will not be down behind the plate, but will be positioned by the umpire and must wear protective helmet with mask or face shield. There will be four (4) players in the outfield.
2. All players will play a minimum of two (2) defensive innings per game. Penalty: forfeiture of game.
3. Any player absent at the beginning of the game will be allowed into the game at his place on the batting line up.
4. The runner cannot be tagged out by the pitcher while running to first base or home. The pitcher must attempt to throw the ball to make the out at First base or home.
